
INTRODUCTION
The Progressive Center for Independent Living (PCIL) provides free ADA Accessibility Assessments to businesses and organizations throughout Mercer County and Hunterdon County, NJ.
This service is funded through the Inclusive Healthy Communities Grant from the New Jersey Division of Disability Services.

Our goal is simple:
To help businesses create welcoming, accessible spaces for people with disabilities — without confusion, overwhelm, or cost barriers.
An ADA Accessibility Assessment is a structured, on-site walk-through of your business to evaluate how accessible your space is under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
We review areas such as:

Accessible parking and entrances

Doorways and route widths
-
Interior pathways (minimum 36” clearance)

Service counters and seating
-
Public restrooms (if applicable)

Signage and lighting
-
Service animal compliance
-
Overall usability for people with disabilities
This is supportive ADA compliance help for businesses in NJ.
